Who We Are

Welcome to the Chesterfield Christian Academy, where we believe in the power of community, faith-based education, and the joy of learning together. We are a homeschool tutoring service, an extension of home education that offers biblically based subject-specific group tutoring classes.

Our goal is to create a balance between academic excellence and social activities that cultivate an interactive environment for students to enjoy the company of like-minded peers. Each year we strive to offer new and exciting opportunities for our students
while continuing to offer strong, core classes taught by qualified tutors who have a passion for their subjects!   Our classes meet on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at

Tomahawk Baptist Church located at 12910 Hull Street Road near Route 288.

Statement of Faith:

In an effort to preserve a Christian environment, families' and students' beliefs must not conflict with the following Statement of Faith.

CCA STATEMENT OF FAITH

  • We are a Christian homeschool co-op school that seeks to put Christ at the center of every subject, whether it is math, science, history, etc. and to present them from a Biblical worldview.  It is our belief that the study of these subjects should direct our students to our Creator and Heavenly Father.
  • We believe the Bible is God’s Holy Word is without error, and is our final authority in all matters of faith and practice.
  • We believe in one God existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe Jesus is the Son of God.
  • We believe Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully Man, conceived from the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin.  He lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died upon the cross and rose again, conquering sin and death
  • We believe in a literal 7-day creation as recorded in the book of Genesis.  We believe in the young earth philosophy and do not support the theory of evolution.

And these commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." Deuteronomy 6:6-7

Meet Our Founders

Tracy Francis

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters ...... It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

She taught high school math for three years in Hanover County before starting a family. Tracy home-educated her own children for seventeen years. Her daughter is a 2014 Liberty University graduate and was married in Spring 2016. Her son graduated from Eastern Nazarene College in Boston, MA in May 2019, where he went to play baseball and live in the city he loves. He was married in the summer of 2022. Tracy also now has both a grandson and granddaughter who she absolutely adores!! Tracy has been with the academy from the beginning and enjoys being able to follow both of her passions: supporting homeschool families and being deeply involved in the lives of her husband, "children" and grandchildren.

Tanya Williamson

But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31

Tanya began homeschooling MANY years ago for her 3 children. At the time, she was teaching 3rd grade and the Gifted Program at Heritage Christian Academy in Chesterfield. Even though she loved teaching in the classroom, she decided to make the leap and stay home with her children and begin their homeschooling venture. In 2005, she and Ms. Francis began CCA, (which was Cloverhill Christian Academy at the time,) as a group to get together to do science. They never looked back and from CCA's humble beginning with 16 students, they have worked with the awesome CCA tutors to build it into what it is today! Her children graduated long ago and are all three married with careers of their own, but homeschooling and tutoring are still near and dear to her heart. Her education includes degrees in English Literature from Christopher Newport University, Early Childhood Development from JTCC, and History from Mary Baldwin College. She currently holds the highest certification from the National Tutoring Certification. Her favorite hobbies are hiking in the mountains with her dog, Hank, and traveling with her husband. In addition to teaching, Ms. Williamson enjoys working with Ms. Francis directing CCA and fulfilling all the various administrative duties.
